So So tired nursing darling Louis, the usual day to day madness that after lunchbox ensemble I went to put ducks to bed. So tired I somehow (horror of horrors as children and I so diligent about not letting tap run when cleaning teeth!) had left hose on all night at full pelt ……..OMG! This is so going to affect our monthly utility bill direct debit!

Honesty best policy so emailed Jersey Water to tell them of Duckgate debacle! Sensation Siobhan totally understood our plight and offered an instant meter reading and general customer assistance! WHAT a pleasant surprise to have confirmed that the world is not actually against you but supporting you despite ridiculous behaviour such as forgetting to turn a tap off!

Bravo Jersey Water. No drips working for you by the way! Siobhan clearly needs a pay rise – huge asset to your organisation.  A very satisfied and grateful customer!

So children are informed at school it is ‘walk/scoot to school week,day, month’ whatever….so this is how school run conversation goes:

Renouard: Mum it’s Scoot to school week! Why are we not scooting to school?

Me: Because we live in Gorey and getting to school is a mission let alone scooting!

Rodanthe: Can we put my cd on of me seeing Toodle um a um a Toodle um eh? I’m fabulous on it!

Renouard: So why are we not scooting to school mum?

Me: Because we live in Gorey and it’s too far to scoot to school (then see other mums ((will not name and shame)) that have parked at dairy and found time for kids to scoot to school from there…try getting out of that one!

Renouard: Oh look there is Harry, he is managing to scoot to school and he lives near Nana!

Me: (Cover clearly blown) ok when it is not raining and we do not have a very sick dog in car for Mummy to watch 24/7) and we can fit your scooters in Popa’s Pope Mobile……and Mummy is not rushing to work then yes we will indeed Scoot from the Dairy! However, tomorrow is not looking great!

Then comes the next tsunami of guilt….

Renouard: Oh and Mum, our teacher said we have to take another person in the car!

Great concept (but kids just don’t get the saving the planet gig) they just think you have to hijack someone and take them in the car to their school ….because their teacher said….you must bring someone else to school!

Teamed with hot dog day, make your own crazy hat day (thank the lord for Leons department store!) we have not one but two crazy hats for tomorrow. Quite impressed with output from our craft box added to but supplied by Auntie Lynn) to make said Crazy hats!

So apart from getting them both out of the house, not to mention sick dog, in season dog and mad dog needing attention, we then focus on hot dog day, mad hat day, work…oh yes….work followed swiftly by dancing…..have to mention…Miss Guy said Billy Elliot showing huge potential …tres proud mummy! Doodle more into acting than technique but still dramatic…it’s in the genes!
